DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

1) Carrying out the numbering of shelves and categorizing the materials stored in coordination with QatarEnergy supervisors and operators in Halul.

2) Carrying out the indexing of spares i.e. keeping records for every item with a brief description and indication of minimum and maximum stock level (as advised by end-user of the materials).

3) Process materials requests and check availability.

4) Check deliveries and report any damages/shortages or other discrepancies.

5) Check materials requisitions as per specification, locate materials, prepare delivery vouchers, arrange dispatch and update stock positions.

6) Report stock shortages well in advance to enable QatarEnergy to arrange for the requisition of replacement stock in good time.

7) Ensure that materials are stored in accordance with the relevant specifications and appropriate preservation system is implemented for the safe storage of the materials.

8) Maintain records and computer database of materials handled [received, dispatched, stock balance, etc.] and submit a report at the end of each month to line supervisor or as directed.

9) Ensure that regular housekeeping is carried out to maintain the stores in a neat and tidy manner and all necessary HSE requirements are complied with.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Minimum three (03) years’ experience in the position of storekeeper in industrial sector, preferably in oil and gas industries.

Storekeepers must possess valid Qatari driving license to be able to drive forklift in the warehouse.

Storekeepers shall be computer literate, especially using MS office packages and relevant materials handling software.

i) Be capable of communicating in English language.

ii) Have technical background and be able to differentiate between different types of mechanical, electrical and instruments, materials and materials used for oil and gas industry in general.

iii) Follow the safety regulations and instructions regarding storing and handling of hazardous materials, oils or chemicals.

iv) Understand and implement appropriate handling and storage procedures as detailed by the manufacturers.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Diploma in an Engineering discipline or equivalent.
