Job Description - Revenue Cycle Manager
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Revenue Cycle Manager's (“RCM”) overall responsibility is to manage the Account Services, Revenue
and Payments of medical and accident insurance claims for all hospitals, polyclinics and health centers under
the aegis of Ministry Of Health, Oman. This includes but is not limited to, registration, coding, estimates,
collections for self-pay services, account initiation and coordination, claims submission, fee schedule
maintenance, denials and customer service for hospitals and professional billing.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Overseeing a team to ensure outstanding and efficient performance in all aspects of the health insurance
revenue cycle, including billing, claims submission, payment, denial management, accounts receivables, and
patient statements and collections and resolving all issues efficiently.
Providing strategy guidance to senior management and DGIT on the project.
Manage the pricing of services in as per the financial rules and regulations defined.
Work to minimize debt, improve cash flow, and effectively manage the account receivable process.
Work with clinical leadership as needed to coordinate client accounts and services.
Communicate with clinical and revenue leadership regarding analysis of services and discovered issues
resulting in denials, or process improvements needed for workflow.
Be the primary contact for all matters relating to RCM.
Stay up to date with coding and hospital revenue trends and will manage all revenue cycle personnel.
Responsible for day-to-day supervision and development activities, including training.
Liaison with DGIT for all IT related issues.
Provide well-defined project documentation, workflows and presentations required to build and implement
RCM by DGIT.
Also responsible for the coordination on proposed project plans, requirements engineering, change
management and User Acceptance Testing and Sign off with DGIT.
Managing interactions with internal and external stake holders to document business and systems functional
requirements
Performs other tasks and activities as needed or directed.
Managing and delivering KPIs dashboards to senior management and analyzing billing, reimbursement, and
accounts receivable trends and identifying opportunities for ongoing performance improvement
Establishing, implementing, and maintaining formalized review process for coding compliance, including
formal review (audit) process; working closely with revenue cycle teams and others to ensure complete and
accurate information and optimal reimbursement based on coding and abstracting of medical records
Managing all aspects of revenue cycle process, including management of accounts receivable operations,
workflow improvement projects, and deployment planning of system enhancement in conjunction with
organizational strategic goals and initiatives
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge
Good understanding and practical experience in Revenue Cycle Management processes and technologies is
preferred to drive best practice through processes, tools and techniques.
10 years medical billing / patient financial services experience including 5 years in a supervisory position.
Previous experience with revenue cycle management in the Middle East is preferred with understanding of the
local customs.
Demonstrated knowledge of coding and billing is preferred.
Knowledge of professional fee billing, reimbursement and third-party payer regulations and medical
terminology is required.
Working knowledge of regulatory requirements pertaining to healthcare operations and their impact on
operations.
