Urgent hiring for Electrical technician specialist

 Electrical technician specialist- UPS battery bank testing/ servicing.

Job Purpose

Carry out various testing and servicing activities related wide variety of battery banks connected with AC

and DC UPS. Shall be conversant with all type of routine and special electrical testing instrument like

automated battery discharge kit, load bank. Fully conversant with characteristic of Ni-Cd and Lead acid

battery cells during the charge/discharge test and associated safety precautions. Troubleshoot and

rectify various problems associated with battery banks like overheating and leakage problems. Shall

assist the OEM during servicing and overhauling of the UPS.

Job Specific Accountabilities

Identify the tools and testing instruments needed for specific services and testing requirement.

 Able to prepare and execute the job plan related particular to Discharge Capacity testing of Ni-

CAD / Lead Acid battery banks.

 Assist in analyzing recurring breakdowns / problems in the equipment and implementing

recommendations to avoid recurrence and to sustain continuous operation.

 Identify and replace the defective battery cells as a part of trouble shooting/servicing.

 Preference be able to read and understand the OEM service manuals in English and execute the

tasks.

 Shall be able to handle discharge capacity testing for Lead Acid and Ni-cad battery bank of

various Size (No. Of Cells), Makes , Capacities (AH) and types independently with No / Minimum

supervision.

Supervision

•    Shall be able to work independently with No/Minimum supervision.

 

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability

•    Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability

guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and client Work Management System.

 

Minimum Qualification: Minimum Qualification: Completion of Secondary School (10 years)

education, followed by 1-2 years technical Diploma/ ITI equivalent certificate from Government

affiliated institution.

Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills

 Minimum 8 years’ experience in battery bank related testing and servicing. (Installation &

commissioning experience is not considered) in a large petrochemical refining / Petrochemical

complex / Gas processing plant.

 Has knowledge of Oil and Gas Industry and conversant with Hazardous area classification

 Use of various types of testing instruments including Automated/ Computersied Discharge

Capacity test Kit for battery bank performance testing.

 Preference to be able to verbally communicate with use of English language and able to fill up

the check list and provide service report.

 Able to build relationships with staff and teams with a focus on collaboration.
